Liverpool are considering a move for Real Madrid’s Isco, according to reports from Goal.

The 22-year-old Spaniard only joined Los Blancos last year, but is already thought to be considering a move away from the Bernabeu after a difficult first season.

Isco managed 32 La Liga outings in all competitions during his debut campaign in Madrid, and with Toni Kroos having been snapped up from Bayern Munich his chances of building his role appear to be bleak.

Real are understood to be ready to listen to offers, which has alerted Liverpool.

The Reds have cash to spend following the sale of Luis Suarez, and are known to be keen to get top class players to Anfield to ensure that they can build upon 2013/14’s impressive second place finish.

Manchester City are also in the running, but Manuel Pellegrini is thought to be more keen on a loan move for the player he coached while at Malaga, which may put the Spanish club off as they look to raise funds for moves for James Rodriguez and Radamel Falcao.

Isco is able to play in any role behind a main striker, and could be a player that would fit well with Brendan Rodgers’ playing style.

What do you think?

Liverpool must move for Isco

Gary said “Poor old LFC scrambling around for cast offs”

My response – a lot of the times, cast-offs can be shaped into better players and have more to prove so they’ll work harder to prove themselves (e.g. Sturrudge, Coutinho etc.).

I’d go for draxler or iturbe over isco. If BR wants great attacking youngsters then either of these two will be younger cheaper alternatives

Iturbe is a great player I’d also love to see at Liverpool but unfortunately he’s signed for AFC Roma

2 great points, I think the hunger of some players who couldn’t make it in teams that chase big name players is great and the examples of Sturridge and Coutinho are great.

Also agree that Draxler and Iturbe would be better in all aspects. We are going to be linked with every player that comes on the market at the moment trying to replace 31 goals of Suarez.

I see it that we need a couple of 15 goal strikers who will give us variety and plug 20 goals at the back. Give us a lot batter balance.
