Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers will want to be quick in putting the title disappointment of this past season behind them and move on to preparing for the next campaign.

While the team were praised throughout the season for their brand of football, there is a lot of work that needs to be done to ensure next year is equally as successful, if not more. Rodgers deserves to be backed in the market after taking Liverpool from seventh to second in the league, and a better calibre of player needs to be brought to Anfield over those who arrived last summer.

Though there will be difficulties in signing players in a World Cup year, there are options available to Liverpool ahead of kickoff in Brazil. These are six players who Liverpool should target this summer.
