It looked like a smart move at first, Liverpool picking up Kolo Toure on a free during the summer after the retirement of Jamie Carragher. But it’s unlikely the club thought the 32-year-old would have seen as much game time this season as he has.

A number of worrying performances at the back for Liverpool have thrown road blocks in the way of the club’s drive to secure a place in the top four, with the team’s attack bailing out the former Arsenal and Manchester City defender on numerous occasions this season.

Beyond this season, it’s unlikely Toure will be wearing the red of Liverpool.
