Luis Suarez’s move from Liverpool to Barcelona could be completed before the end of the weekend, according to reports from Sky Sports.

After initial talks between the Spaniards and the Reds broke down, it is understood that a fee of around £71m has been agreed for the 27-year-old.

Suarez only penned a fresh contract at Anfield over the winter to become the club’s highest ever paid player, but in recent weeks it has become apparent that he had once again grown desperate for a move.

Liverpool held foim to keep their man last summer as Real Madrid and Arsenal lurked, but following his bite on Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup they are less willing to resist big offers for the Uruguayan.

Suarez is currently banned from any footballing activity for four months due to the aforementioned discretion, but this may be reduced upon an appeal.

Barca are ready to take a risk on the PFA Player of the Year following his recent apology for the incident and a promise that he will not repeat the offence – the latest episode was the third of its kind from the player since 2010.

It is understood that Alexis Sanchez will not be a part of the deal, with Arsenal closing in on a £25m swoop for his signature.
