Joe Allen was excellent for Swansea City last season, which convinced Brendan Rodgers to bring the youngster with him to Anfield in the summer and fork out £15million for the youngster’s services.
But Allen has had a different role at Liverpool, and although it’s clear the midfielder has talent, Lucas Leiva and Steven Gerrard have both been preferred over him in the middle of the park.
Reds fans shouldn’t be too disheartened though, Allen is just 22 years of age and may be simply taking a season to his new surroundings.
Next year, Allen needs to up his game a little bit to secure a first team place, but if he does so, expect to see some fantastic passing displays from the young playmaker.
Also, having Steven Gerrard to learn your trade from can hardly go too badly.
