Schooled in the Brendan Rodgers philosophy and equipped with the physical presence Liverpool have been missing all season, Ashley Williams appears to be an ideal candidate for a summer switch to Anfield.
Although the Welsh international has made no noises regarding a transfer, he could be tempted to make a move up the league, with Swansea unlikely to be able to compete regularly for top honours. On Merseyside he could have the chance of regular European football, and a possible pursuit of league titles if Rodgers can get the team playing consistently across an entire season.
With the Swans not desperate to sell he wouldn’t be cheap, but if Liverpool are going for quality over quantity, Williams would appear to be a sound addition.
