Liverpool’s best piece of business this summer was arguably keeping a hold of Luis Suarez – the Uruguayan made his intentions felt at the start of the transfer window, citing that intense criticism from the British media had convinced him to leave Anfield.

The 26 year-old had plenty of potential suitors, in the Premier League and beyond, but after a rather tough stance in the media from Brendan Rodgers and Reds chief executive Ian Ayre, Suarez’s distant admirers were held at bay.
