Overpriced, overrated and often over-pressured, young English players haven’t been the transfer trend of late. Less than a third of the Premier League’s playing personnel are currently home-grown, and of the £630million spent by the top flight in the summer, very little was spared for English talents.

But with every phase comes a backlash, and as we can see from the recent efforts of the England national team, a new contingent of inspiring Three Lions youngsters are beginning to break through.

And with Liverpool being one of the Premier League’s hotbeds when it comes to bringing through some of the country’s greatest home-made talents, the Reds will undoubtedly be keen to get in on the act before the next batch of Three Lions starlets is surrendered to their divisional rivals.

With that in mind, here’s SIX home-grown prodigies that have popped up on the Anfield outfit’s transfer radar of late.
