Premier League club.

The Reds are reportedly monitoring the French international, as manager Brendan Rodgers prepares for the summer transfer window.

Cissokho was linked with a switch to Anfield prior to signing with Valencia.

Despite the deal only being concluded last August, speculation that the Merseysiders are tracking the rampaging defender has refused to cease.

Even though he has only been at the Mestalla for a short period, Cissokho has revealed that he is flattered by links with Liverpool and would love to play in England:

“I have never hidden the fact that England is the championship I prefer.” He is quoted by La Parisien.

“It is my pleasure to have my name mentioned in Liverpool. This is a great club and everyone can not wear this jersey.”

“But it’s still information in a newspaper.”

Valencia are rumoured to be in a period of serious financial difficulty, with spiralling debts likely to lead to sales of star players.

Even though Cissokho is a recent signing, the Spaniards may be willing to allow him to leave to help keep the club in business.

Rodgers could take advantage of this to bring in the 25-year-old, who has been regarded as one of the best attacking full-back’s in European football for some time.
