I think significant progress has been witnessed by Liverpool supporters and players,, in what is, after all, a season of transition.

Liverpool are currently the league's 2nd highest scorers and since the turn of the year, only two other teams have picked up more points. I would say that was progress or at the very least grounds for optimism.

All of Suarez's comments thus far suggest he is happy with both his home life in Liverpool and the progression of the team. He is currently top scorer in the league, of course, and his team are 7 points off last season's points total with 8 games remaining. That suggests both the player and the team have made strides forward this season.

I imagine Suarez has also been buoyed by the additions of Coutinho and Sturridge and the possibilities therein after a pre-season and full campaign. It is also clear that there will be summer signings at Liverpool in order to increase the experience and seniority within the squad, as well as the quality, potentially.

It would, therefore, be surprising should Suarez not wish to see how Liverpool fare next season. He isn't reliant on injury-sapped pace (like, perhaps, Torres and Owen are/were), has only just turned 26 so isn't in a last chance saloon for European medals and doesn't appear to be money-orientated, given that he signed for Liverpool on less wages than he was reputedly offered by other clubs and only this season moved into the top-tier of LFC's earners.

He is a wanted man because he is a genuinely world class talent and this season's undoubted footballer of the year. In everyone's eyes except Britain/England/London/Murdoch's xenophobic press, and the usual tribal-trolls, of course.

Yet I get the feeling that Luis Suarez knows, understands and appreciates that he is wanted at Liverpool FC more than anywhere else in the world right now.
