Manchester United and Chelsea have been warned off of making a move for Marek Hamsik by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis.

The Premier League duo have both been linked with the talented midfielder in recent weeks amid rumours that he is ready to leave the Serie A giants.

Hamsik has long been seen as one of the Naples-based side’s key men, but manager Rafa Benitez has cut his playing time this season.

This was believed to have forced him to consider his options, but De Laurentis has denied that his player is looking to leave and stated that he is not for sale:

“It’s only journalists who put him on the market.” He is quoted by The Express.

“Marek has to come and tell me if he wants to go, but there is no more Neapolitan player than him. He has become Neapolitan and for me he is absolutely not for sale.

“Of course if he came to me and asked to leave, then we’d have to discuss it.”

Hamsik is said to be valued at around £33m, and is thought to be a player that both David Moyes and Jose Mourinho both admire.

Napoli have a reputation as a selling club, with big name attackers Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani both having joined PSG in recent years.
