Shinji Kagawa is not planning a summer move away from Manchester United, according to his agent.

The Japan international has been heavily linked with a transfer in recent times after struggling for game time under ex-boss David Moyes for much of the current season.

His former club Borussia Dortmund are said to be long-term admirers, but Italian giants Napoli have also entered the race in recent weeks, fuelling talk that the silky playmaker could be on his way.

Yet Kagawa’s agent, Thomas Kroth, has played down talk that his client could join the Coppa Italia winners, or any other side during the coming transfer window:

“Has there been contact from Napoli? For me, these are just rumours and nothing certain.” He is quoted by talkSPORT.

“He doesn’t feel bad at Manchester United, so I see no reason to talk about him leaving.”

Kagawa only joined United in 2012 in a £12m deal from Dortmund, where he had developed a reputation as one of Europe’s top attacking midfielders.

However he has struggled to settle at the Theatre of Dreams, with a lack of first-team chances having limited him to just six goals in two seasons.
