The Mirror.

The 27-year-old was heavily criticised by manager Carlo Ancelotti after being sent off in Champions League action against Galatasaray earlier in the week, and I believed to be frustrated by his current contractual situation.

Ramos is keen to be in the same pay bracket as summer signing Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, with the player convinced that he is just as important to the first-team as the star attacking duo.

But, Real’s president, Florentino Perez, has not been forthcoming with a new deal, leaving the World Cup winner angered.

This has alerted City and Chelsea, both of whom are ready to offer him a January escape route.

Blues chief Jose Mourinho worked with Ramos during his time at the Bernabeu, and is known to be a huge fan of his abilities, while Manuel Pellegrini is also keen to bolster his backline with a move for the versatile defender.

The Spanish international is currently behind Pepe and Raphael Varane to start in his favoured centre-back role, and has often been deployed as a full-back this term.

Should Manchester City or Chelsea move for Sergio Ramos?
