Balotelli’s agent rules out January move
Mario Balotelli will not be leaving Manchester City this month, according to his agent Mino Raiola.
The Italian striker is rumoured to be on the verge of parting company with the Premier League champions following a series of disappointing performances and off-field issues.
AC Milan are believed to be interested in making a move for the 22-year-old, as they look to bring in fresh faces after allowing Alexandre Pato and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave the club.
Despite speculation, Raiola has moved to state that Balotelli will not be leaving the Etihad Stadium during the next few weeks:
“There is no negotiation for Balotelli with any club, no meeting, zero. It seems a Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale,” he is quoted by The Mirror via radio station GR Parlamento
“Manchester City won’t sell Mario, let alone loan. There are zero chances he moves. But until January 31st, who knows.”
It has been reported that City have placed a €37m price tag on the striker, but Raiola has denied this, insisting that the club’s management hold him in high regard:
“The €37million price? City has never asked for money because they never offered the sale of the player.
“The owners appreciate the player and don’t want to sell him.”
Balotelli has struggled for first-team football of late, with the likes of Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko being preferred by Roberto Mancini.
Raiola admitted that his client is frustrated to not be playing, but believes that he is not a disruptive influence:
“Balotelli is very quiet, obviously he’s not happy about not playing but is handling the situation in a different way than in the past, not like a rotten apple.”
