Manchester City spent close to £100million during the summer and brought in a new manager to help elevate the club both domestically and in European competition. Yet problems remain, specifically the issue of away games which stretch back to the start of this calendar year.

Thus far into the season, City have only won once away from home in the league. Where they’re imperious at the Etihad against anyone but Bayern Munich, they’re unable to replicate that form while playing away from the comforts of their home ground.

If City are to be considered genuine title challengers – they’re currently outside of the top four – Manuel Pellegrini has a lot to do to right the ship.
