Joe Hart claims City have ‘quality and spirit’
Joe Hart believes Manchester City‘s habit of winning games with late goals is a sign of good quality and spirit around the sqaud.
The Premier League champions won the title in dramatic fashion last season with Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero netting in stoppage time to beat QPR 3-2 on the final day of the season, while they have gained 14 points from losing positions already this season.
And Hart believes it is the ability to come from behind to win games that makes teams champions and that City’s players were born with quality and character to succeed.
He told The Mirror: “We do not turn up to tick boxes, or make people happy, we turn up to win.
“You have to be able to win when things are not going your way. That is the only way you are going to win things because people are snapping at your heels, so you have to win regardless of how you play.
“Someone said before that the quality we have got, on top of our character, means we are going to do well. It is not a quality we have developed just recently, it is just instilled in the people.
“We are a group of winners – 20 players who play to win. And we are lucky with that.”
Hart also blasted the way people have likened them to rivals Manchester United in the way they can come from behind to win.
“That is what they do. We are our own team now,” he added.
“We are developing a real identity and this is what we do.”
