Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he may look to make further additions to his star-studded squad ahead of the new season.

The Premier League champions have been fairly active in the transfer market this summer, tying up deals for Bacary Sagna, Willy Caballero and Fernando, while letting experienced duo Joleon Lescott and Gareth Barry both leave on free transfers.

Even though FFP problems are likely to limit City’s spending this time around, the club have been linked with a host of big name players to add to their deep and talented ranks.

Isco – a target for Liverpool – is the latest name to have emerged as being on the Sky Blues’ radar, and Pellegrini has now suggested that he may look to get more bodies through the door at the Etihad Stadium in the coming weeks:

“I don’t think the squad is complete yet but we have six weeks before the transfer window closes,” he is quoted by Sky Sports.

“Perhaps there is the option to bring one or more players in, or maybe one or two will leave our squad but there is time for us to consider what is best for our team.”

Pellegrini went on to confirm that Alvaro Negredo will miss two to three months of action with a metatarsal injury:

“Alvaro had surgery today on his broken foot and he will probably be out for two or three months,

“It is a blow for us because Alvaro is a very important member of our squad so obviously we will miss him.”
