Martin Demichelis is adamant that nobody at Manchester City has given up on their Premier League title hopes this season after the weekend loss at Liverpool.

The Sky Blues slipped seven points off of the table-topping Reds, and now know that even if they win all of their six remaining games they may not be guaranteed the top prize.

After the final whistle on Merseyside there appeared to be a real shift in momentum, which was furthered by the late winner after City had hauled themselves back from 2-0 down.

But Demichelis – who has been heavily criticised for some cumbersome displays this season – says that nobody at the club ha given up on their title hopes:

“We will fight until the end.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.

“No-one left the stadium thinking they were champions.

“Obviously we are not happy about the result but we know we have still got matches ahead.

“We have seen in football that we can still win and they can make mistakes.

“Hopefully we will win the rest and there will be some mistakes from Liverpool.”

City have good form when it come to dramatic title fight backs, with the then Roberto Mancini managed side of 2012 having clawed back an eight point deficit with a half-dozen games remaining.
