Manchester City Boss Denies links with Russian move
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has rubbished reports that he has been lined up to take over at Russian club Zenit St Petersburg in the summer.
Mancini has been rumoured to be leaving the Etihad Stadium in the summer after a sub-par season where City were knocked out of the Champions League and League Cup in the early stages as well as falling a whopping 12 points behind rivals Manchester United in the title race.
Zenit were knocked out of the Europa League by Basel on Thursday night and are struggling to qualify for next seasons Champions League through league position despite spending over £100million in the summer on talent such as Hulk and Axel Witsel.
Reports this week claimed that Mancini was the clubs number one target for the summer and that he would be the man to take them to the next level.
When Mancini was asked by talkSPORT about the rumours linking him with a move to Russia he simply replied – “It’s not true.”
