Manchester City boss unhappy with star performances
Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini says players like Samir Nasri or Joe Hart are not showing their best level and should take responsibility for their poor form.
With Manchester United 15 points ahead in the Premier League, the Italian has told some of the top players they have to change their attitude or they might have to find a new club, the Mirror reports.
“I don’t like players that never think it’s their fault. These players can’t play with me because this is impossible. I want strong players that are upset with me when they don’t play but, after that, show me on the pitch that they deserve to play”, he said.
And he singled out Nasri and Hart: “I said that, for me, Samir is a top player and a top player should play well in every game. It’s the same for Joe”.
Despite being abrupt with his words, Mancini believes being critical with his players should have a beneficial impact and get the best from them.
“I’m not rude with my players, I say what I think sometimes if I think it could be good for my players to understand they could play better or they can do more”, he assured.
City boss also suggested some players might have been too relaxed and mentioned the team had lacked at times the ambition shown in the previous season.
“Sometimes we haven’t played with the same attitude that we had last year”, he concluded.
