Manchester City join £15m race for winger
Premier League Champions Manchester City have made their moves to sign Crystal Palace wonderkid Wilfred Zaha, in a bid worth £15 million, according to The Sun.
Reports are suggesting that Roberto Mancini is willing to offer £12 million up front for the recent England debutant, with a further £3 million in add-ons. City are also hoping to wing the deal by allowing Zaha to remain at Selhurst Park on loan until the Summer.
It is thought that the Champions will face stiff competition from Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham for Zaha, who has assisted Crystal Palace to the summit of the Championship.
However, the London based club are not keen to sell their best players after finally balancing the books at Selhurst Park. Placing a £20 million price tag on Zaha earlier this season was intended to keep top clubs away from their star man. The striker, who is still eligible for the Ivory Coast, who signed a new deal with Palace this summer, could have been available for just £7 million this summer.
With 30 months still left on his new deal, the youngster has seen his price tag raise. That shouldn’t matter to Man City, with endless financial backing meaning they can afford to spend over the odds for their targets.
