Leeds could kick-start their season.

The Sky Blues produced a convincing display against their Championship rivals, with Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez finding the net as well as Sergio Aguero bagging a brace.

Although his side are 12 points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester United, Mancini feels that if his team, and in particular Aguero, keep scoring and performing well they can reel in their local rivals:

“If he (Aguero) scores a lot of goals from now until the end, the championship is not finished.” He told Sky Sports.

The Italian boss was also delighted with the start his team made against Leeds, and was glad to see they avoided the complacency that has seen many big sides’ tournament end early:

“It was really important to win this game and if you score two goals in the first 20 minutes it is clearly easier,

“The FA Cup is a difficult competition and a lot of Premier League teams have gone out of it. If you don’t play with concentration it’s difficult.”

Leeds manager Neil Warnock was left fuming by the penalty decision which granted Aguero his first goal.

The Argentine won a spot-kick after a coming together with Tom Lees, much to the anger of the ex-QPR boss.

Mancini played down the incident, insisting he did not have a clear view and that it made little impact on the final score:

“It (the foul for the penalty) was difficult to see from the bench. I didn’t see it,

“The game finished 4-0 and I don’t think we gave them many chances to score.

“I think the result is correct. I don’t know if the penalty was correct, I will see it again but I can’t say at the moment.”
