Roberto Mancini

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that if he is sacked in the summer then every other Premier League manager should also be fired.

Mancini is growing tired of people questioning the safety of his job and he believes that he and his team have exceeded expectations since their arrival three years ago.

Reports in the media this week have suggested that the Italian may be sacked in the summer with Jose Mourinho being lined up to take his place following a poor season at the Etihad.

City humiliating finished bottom of their Champions League group at the start of the season and are now 12 points behind rivals Manchester United going into this FA Cup weekend.

The FA Cup may now be Mancini’s only hope of a trophy this season and his job will become under intense scrutiny if his side are knocked out by Championship outfit Leeds United tomorrow.

“We started our project three years ago. In three years we are always on the top – we fight for the title, we have won three trophies, we have the chance to win more this year,” Mancini told talkSPORT.

“All the people who talk about this don’t understand football.

“If Manchester City should sack me, the other 19 teams in the Premier League should be without a manager.”
