Premier League trio consider move for Real Madrid ace
Modric is believed to be considering his future after failing to adapt to life in Spain since his £33million move from Tottenham in the summer, and the Premier League’s top clubs are monitoring his situation with the Spanish champions.
The Croatia international was voted as the worst signing of the season in Spain by readers of newspaper Marca earlier this month after failing to make his desired impact, scoring just once in 19 games.
“This is Real Madrid, I know the huge media pressure on transfers,” Modric told Sportske.net.
“I’m not looking for an alibi, I’m not that guy, but it’s very demanding to adjust to a huge club like Real Madrid.”
“I have had a number of solid performances, I failed in some but overall I proved I can offer something.”
Sir Alex Ferguson has been a long term admirer of the 27-year-old and is still on the hunt for a replacement for influential midfielder Paul Scholes.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has also expressed his interest in the past, while Chelsea look likely to allow club legend Frank Lampard to leave in the summer and could see Modric as a replacement for him.
Modric is unlikely to leave in the current transfer window, but could be on his way in the summer if his form fails to improve in the second half of the season.
