Roberto Mancini boss seeking more goals
City had a chance to leapfrog rivals Manchester United, but couldn’t find a way pass Chelsea.
The match was played out with relatively few chances for either side, with the main note from the game being the home fan’s frustrations towards the new manager Rafa Benitez.
City proved to be more creative as David Silva headed a Pablo Zabaleta’s cross over the bar before Sergio Aguero headed straight to Petr Cech. The second half saw chances few and far between and there was very little to separate the two teams.
Mancini knows that City need to be able to find the net in the next couple of games with a midweek trip to Wigan, before entertaining Everton at the weekend.
“I am not satisfied with one point. To play here at Chelsea is always difficult, but to play well as we did here, we can’t lose two points,” the Sporting Life reports.
“We were so poor in the last 20 metres, when we have a chance, we need to score. We missed the last pass – you have to be strong with that in the box. If you are soft, you won’t score. That is why I was upset.
“We are a good team and we won the last championship, we want to defend this.”
