Reports from The Mirror suggest that Roma want to take Manchester City right back Micah Richards to the Stadio Olimpico.

Richards, who made his City début against boyhood club Arsenal in October 2005 has spent his entire career at Eastlands, but he has only played 10 games in the last 12 months after suffering serious knee and hamstring injuries, and with the impressive form of Pablo Zabaleta, the tough right back will find games hard to come by under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The interest from the Italian giants came about when they discovered that Richards has yet to agree new terms with the 2012 Premier League champions, despite having talks in the summer. Newcastle are also said to be interested in the 25-year-old.

Richards has played twice so far this season, but he is still waiting for his first Premier League appearance under Pellegrini.
