In a week where United announced a new shirt sponsorship deal with motor giant Chevrolet there has been a distinctive stall in Sir Alex Ferguson’s transfer dealings. As August fluttered into life the Red Devil’s chief is facing a major decision as he endeavors to boost his numbers ahead of the new Premier League season. The chase for Brazil star Lucas Moura has hit a roadblock with Ferguson not convinced the midfielder is worth his £40 million asking price whilst he’s not prepared to meet Everton’s £12m valuation for Leighton Baines. Left back is a position the club are currently light in and bringing in a quality replacement for Patrice Evra, following his erratic form last term, is a necessity. But, Ferguson can certainly find solace in the fact rivals City have yet to make a signing as they gear up for a title challenge like no other.
