AC Milan are considering a shock swap deal involving Mario Balotelli and Manchester United’s Robin van Persie, according to reports from The Express.

‘Mad Mario’ has only been back in Italy since mid-way through last season, but the San Siro side are already believed to have grown tired of his antics and are considering letting him leave in the summer.

Clarence Seedorf could well retain his role as Milan’s manager for next season, and it’s believed that the Dutchman would like a reunion with compatriot van Persie.

The two played together in the Holland national team, and are understood to have struck up a good relationship.

Seedorf is confident that he could lure RvP across to Italy, and is willing to let Balotelli move in the opposite direction.

The Italian striker has already represented United’s local rivals Manchester City, winning the Premier League title in the sky blue shirt in a period at the club that was blighted by off-field incidents.

Although he is somewhat of a problem player, Milan are hopeful that the Red Devils will be aware that receiving him in exchange would represent a deal that would be more financially rewarding than selling their man for around £15m.

Balotelli has also been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham, while French giants Monaco are rumoured to be keen.

This would be stupid as hell. Milan, who are frequently claiming they want a more youthful and more Italian club, getting rid of one of the most talented Italian young players in the business. AND, after Seedorf’s leadership, or whatever helped, seems to have clicked with Balotelli. What antics has he gotten up to since arriving at Milan? I can’t think of anything except for that ping pong pic, which was blown entirely out of proportion by the Italian media.
If Milan sells him, it would be sad.
If they sell him for a 30 year old Dutchman, that would be outrageous, as it would be further proof of the management blatantly lying to the club fans about the goals of the club.
