Manchester United look to be leading the race for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, with reports from The Mirror suggesting that his representatives see a move to Old Trafford as likely.

The former Arsenal captain looks set to leave the Nou Camp this summer, with the Catalan giants rumoured to be willing to cut him loose for around £30m after three seasons back at his boyhood club.

Due to his wealth of experience – he’s won the World Cup with Spain – interest in his signature is high, with the Gunners, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City having all been linked with moves to lure him to the Premier League again.

But United lead the way, with reports suggesting that the player’s entourage feel that a switch to the Theatre of Dreams is a genuine possibility.

The Red Devils openly chased the 27-year-old for much of last summer, but were unable to snap him up during a thoroughly disappointing transfer window.

Fabregas is set for crunch talks with new Barca chief Luis Enrique after the World Cup, which could have a major bearing on his decision.
