Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has been warned against joining Manchester United this summer, according to the Express.

Former treble winning coach Jupp Heynckes has revealed he keeps in regular contact with many of his former players, and claims he has urged contract rebel Kroos to sign a new deal at the Allianz Arena.

David Moyes is desperate to sign the German international this summer, with reports suggesting he is ready to offer as much as £40million for a player with just one-year remaining on his contract.

Kroos played a part in knocking United out of the Champions League last week, and his former boss reckons the 24-year-old will come to his senses and sign a new deal with the reigning European champions.

He said: “I spoke with Toni. If he takes my words seriously, he will stay. A team like Bayern are not currently available in Europe.

“He would be well advised to extend. At present he has a good offer from Bayern. Toni knows also. I hope that his advisor also knows.”

It remains to be seen whether Bayern will choose to cash in on Kroos to avoid losing him on a free transfer a year later, or whether the German international will put pen to paper on a new deal at the Allianz Arena.
