Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has passed a medical ahead of his £47m move to Manchester United, according to the Daily Star.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer amidst on-going uncertainty surrounding his La Vecchia Signora future.

But Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport and Chile’s El Mercurio are also reporting that Vidal has undertaken and passed a medical over in his homeland, despite it being unclear as to whether Juventus gave him the green light to do so.

That suggests a fee is yet to be agreed for the World Cup star, although it is believed his agent Fernando Felicevich is flying in to Manchester to finalise the move in the coming days.

A verbal agreement is thought to have been agreed between the Red Devils and the midfielder, with a £120,000-a-week, four-year deal reportedly on the table.

The reported £47m fee would smash United’s current £37.1m transfer record, which they spent on Chelsea’s Juan Mata in January.

Vidal will wear the No.7 shirt at Old Trafford, most famously worn previously by the likes of David Beckham, George Best and Cristiano Ronaldo.
