Manchester United manager David Moyes described his side’s shock 2-2 home draw with Fulham as “as bad as it gets”.

The Red Devils dropped points at home to the Premier League’s bottom club to add to a series of underwhelming results under the guidance of their Scottish manager.

United had trailed their opponents for most of the match due to a Steve Sidwell goal, but eventually moved ahead with two goals in as many minutes late on through Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick.

However, there was sting in the tail for the home side as Darren Bent netted a shock leveller deep into injury time.

The result has served to further heap the pressure on Moyes, who was frustrated after the final whistle:

“It’s been a bit like that this season. Today was as bad as it gets. We dominated the game,” he told BBC Sport.

“Being one down was bad enough, the amount of attempts, chances and play we had was unbelievable. How we didn’t win I have no idea.

“It’s the goals that count. You can have as much possession as you like. You’ve got to try and keep making it work and the players did that today and eventually the goals did come.

“But we were careless at the back and we could have cleared the ball but we didn’t and it cost us. It was diabolical from our point of view.”

The result leaves United 15 points off of league leaders Chelsea and nine away from bitter rivals Liverpool in fourth.
