Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has stated that he is not happy about his lack of playing time and could be looking for a new home next season, according to London 24.

The 26-year-old Mexican international has been with the Red Devils since 2010, when he joined the side from Guadlajara of Liga MX.

Recent reports have linked him with a move to Tottenham, who would be more than happy to take him to form a potentially dynamic duo with Emmanuel Adebayor.

Hernandez said: “I’ve never seen myself as a sub and I don’t like being one, and believe me, I am tired of a lot of people seeing me that way, as a ‘super-sub.

“I’m a player that has made a difference as a starter.”

Hernandez, who has scored 37 goals in 101 appearances for United, was also dropped from the starting line-up in Mexico’s first World Cup game, a 1-0 win over Cameroon. He had his least productive season at United last season, scoring just nine goals in 35 matches.

The striker has seen his playing time drop dramatically since the signing of Robin Van Persie two years ago, and that may continue next season as Van Persie’s coach at Netherlands, Louis Van Gaal, takes over.

Van Gaal takes over for David Moyes, who was sacked after just one disastrous season in which United finished seventh in the Premier League and failed to qualify for the Champions League.
