Eric Harrison feels that Ryan Giggs’ appointment as Manchester United’s interim boss will give the club a boost between now and the end of the season.

The Welshman is set to fill in for the last four games of the campaign following David Moyes’ dismissal after a woeful 10 months in charge.

Giggs will be accompanied by former Red Devils players Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, with the temporary boss keen to bring a feeling of familiarity to the club during his short tenure.

Harrison – the former youth coach who has widely been credited for discovering the ‘Class of ‘92’ at United – says that his one-time player is excited at the prospect of the challenge in store, and that his presence will generate a more positive atmosphere at Old Trafford:

“I spoke to Ryan this and he is absolutely buzzing. He is going to take Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt with him – the three musketeers.” He told talkSPORT.

“It will certainly be a different atmosphere in training and at Old Trafford and the fans will buy into it. As soon as Ryan walks out the tunnel, the place will erupt.”

Giggs’ stay as manager is expected to be a short one, with Louis van Gaal being tipped to take the position on a full time basis in the summer.
