Manchester United needed a 3-0 victory in order to ensure progression into the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a home win against Olympiakos, after trailing 2-0 from the first-leg.

With their recent poor form, almost everyone seemed to have written them off before the game. But United returned to their best for the night to romp home with a 3-0 win.

The result will have have taken the heat off under fire David Moyes and calls for his sacking will have died down for the immediate future at least, but it appears he’s still got the full support of his predecessor, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Looking at the picture below and the expression on the former Manchester United manager as Robin Van Persie scores, you could tell Fergie was 100% behind Moyes and, seemingly, the only real Man United fan in the Chairman’s Suite at Old Trafford that night…
