Manchester United Ace Considers China Move
Rio Ferdinand has revealed to close friends that he would be open to a shock move to China, after his 10 year career with Manchester United looks set to end this summer, according to reports in The Daily Mail.
With clubs in the Far East willing to offer the England star as much as £130,000-a-week, it is thought that Ferdinand may follow former Premier League compatriots Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka by plying his trade in China.
Reports earlier this month suggested that Ferdinand’s national team mate Frank Lampard is in talks with Chinese club Guizhou Renhe. A move such as this would open the floodgates and may see other elder statesman of the Premier League take the plunge by spending their twilight years in a financially beneficial, far off land.
Talking to Inside United about his future, Ferdinand stated, “The best thing I can do is to look at it at Christmas, and then again in the summer, to see how I’m feeling and go from there.”
“I’ll have a better idea of that in December or January time, when the games start coming thick and fast. That is when it really hits you and you know the hard work really has to start.”
