Leicester for striker Jeffrey Schlupp this week.

The 20-year-old has been on trial with the Red Devils, featuring in their U-21 team’s last two games, impressing the Premier League leaders’ hierarchy in the process.

Now the Old Trafford club are willing to tie up a deal for the Ghanaian, which could eventually rise to £2.5m.

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson confirmed that a move is close to being completed, and that he expects Schlupp to become a Manchester United player soon:

“I think we’ll be discussing this week what the next step is.” He is quoted by The Telegraph.

“He’s done well at United, he’s played the last two games that he can play there so clearly it’s going to have some effect this week.”

Leicester are said to hold Schlupp in high regard, but are willing to allow him to leave for a respectable sum.

The young forward has made just over 20 appearances for the Foxes and spent some time on loan with Brentford in 2011.

As well as impressing at club level, the burly front-man also received a shock international call-up, making his debut against Gabon in 2011.

Even though he has been capped by Ghana, he has also represented Germany, his birth nation, at U-19 level.
