Manchester United are keen to tie up a January deal for Cruzeiro winger Everton Ribeiro, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Brazilian wide-man has been one of the stars of his home nation’s top tier in recent times, helping his club to claim the league title last term.

His consistent displays have attracted admiring glances from a number of big European clubs, with United thought to be at the front of the chasing pack.

David Moyes is rumoured to be desperate to add some flair to his struggling Red Devils side, after their latest defeat – to the Scot’s former club Everton – saw the champions drop into 8th spot after 14 games.

Ribeiro’s agent has already confirmed interest from United, and the player himself is believed to be open to a move to Old Trafford, which has prompted speculation that a winter offer is being formulated.

However, any potential deal is likely to be complicated by the 24-year-old’s intricate ownership issues, with 40% of his rights currently held by a third party company – which is perfectly legal in Brazil but not permitted in the Premier League.

Reports have suggested that United are already working around the complex system, and that a transfer may be worth in the region of £7m.
