Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson claims he was one of many players who wanted out of the David Moyes regime at Old Trafford, according to the Express.

The Brazilian joined Fiorentina on loan until the end of the season in the January transfer window, and looks unlikely to return to the Premier League, given United handed his No8 shirt to new signing Juan Mata.

The 25-year-old insists he has no desire to return to Manchester anyway, and says several other players – including Portuguese winger Nani – are also hoping to leave the club at the end of the season.

“I’m sure that lots of players want out, especially people like myself and Nani who have been in Manchester for seven or eight years,” Anderson said.

“Manchester United is a huge club, a club that does everything for its players, but sometimes a footballer wants to leave just to experience a different way to play football, to learn something as well.”

Moyes is thought to be preparing a summer clear out at United, with three senior defenders, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra all out of contract, and question marks over the futures of Javier Hernandez, Alex Buttner and Nani.
