Capital One Cup win over Norwich will be enough to get him back into David Moyes’ plans.

The England international has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford under his new boss, who is thought to be unconvinced by his fleeting displays.

Young made his first start since United’s humbling 4-1 defeat to bitter rivals Manchester City in September against the Canaries, and looked relatively impressive.

He is hopeful that on the back of his outing Moyes will give him another chance in the Premier League against Fulham this weekend.

“I have not played since the City game,” Young told The Express.

“I have been waiting my time and I wanted to get out there and impress.

“I felt I did well, I enjoyed the game. We will have to wait and see what the manager thinks come the weekend.”

Young currently finds himself behind a host of players in Moyes’ pecking order, with teenage prodigy Adnan Januzaj perhaps the most surprising first-team regular this term.

The ex-Aston Villa man has also been linked with a move away from United, with Newcastle rumoured to be interested.

Should Ashley Young be given another chance?
