Real Madrid are ready to rival Manchester United for the signature of Juventus star Arturo Vidal in the summer, according to talkSPORT.

David Moyes has the dynamic midfielder down as a top summer target, but now looks to face a battle for his signature with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Ancelotti considering raiding his former club for the 45-cap Chile international last summer, but the player’s high price tag, as well as the big money moves for¬†Asier Illarramendi and Gareth Bale made a transfer impossible.

The news will come as a blow to David Moyes, who has been desperate to strengthen United’s struggling midfield since the summer.

Moyes has spent over £60million on Maraoune Fellaini and Juan Mata since taking control at Manchester United, but a central midfield star remains the priority.

United have been linked with and missed out on a host of big names, and are concerned Vidal could be the latest to be added to the seemingly ever-growing list.

Reports also suggest Real have registered first refusal on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan – another midfielder believed to be a transfer target for David Moyes.
