Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is set to accept a transfer to Inter Milan at the end of the season, after holding positive talks with the Serie A giants, reports the Metro.

Vidic is set to see his contract at Old Trafford expire at the end of the current campaign, and is free to agree a pre-contract move to an overseas club.

The defenders agent has already claimed he is unlikely to sign a new contract at United, and Inter have been looking to win the race for his signature since.

Reports in Italy suggest Inter sent a delegation to Manchester over the weekend to meet Vidic, who is the Serie A side’s top transfer target for next season.

The news will come as a blow to United boss David Moyes, who had been keen to sign the Serb to an extended contract.

Inter are ready to offer Vidic a two-year-contract, worth around £100,000-a-week, whilst the 32-year-old will also spearhead the club’s commercial push in Asia.

Vidic is expected to hold further talks with Inter over the next few days, in an attempt to sort out the finer details of the move.

However it is claimed that he has already told Inter he is happy to make the switch to the San Siro in the summer.
