Cristiano Ronaldo has put Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain on alert after reports suggesting he wont sign a new deal at Real Madrid, the Telegraph reports.

Ronaldo’s future at the club has been a topic for discussion ever since he was quoted as saying he felt “sad” due to professional reasons, and yesterday Spanish newspaper AS claimed he will not be signing a new deal at the Bernabeau.

His current deal runs out in 2015 and it is widely believed the Portugal international could be on the move in the summer, as Madrid look to cash in on him and avoid the possibility of losing him on the cheap as his contract gets closer to expiring.

Madrid defender Raul Albiol is keeping his fingers crossed that the situation is sorted, telling reporters, “I don’t know if he’s going to renew his contract or not. But Cristiano Ronaldo is the best in the world and we want him by our side as long as possible.”

The 27-year-old Portugese star has scored a staggering 170 goals in 170 games for the Spanish Champions since signing from United for £80million in 2009, and it is now a move back to Old Trafford as well as a move to money bags PSG that he is being most heavily linked with.

There is no doubting that Sir Alex Ferguson would be keen to bring a player of Ronaldo’s quality back to the club, however the cost of a deal could prove a stumbling block and United will find it hard to compete with the likes of PSG in those stakes.
