Following a summer in which David Moyes secured just a single senior signing, and a first half of the season that’s seen Manchester United fall all the way down to eighth place in the Premier League table, the new Red Devils boss is expected to attack the January window with a rather lucrative winter war chest.

Reviving an ageing side with some young talent and bringing in some much-needed quality to the midfield will be the former Everton manager’s two leading priorities when the transfer window reopens, but as we all know, doing your shopping mid-season can be an incredibly hazardous and booby-trapped process.
