According to The Telegraph, The Guardian, BBC Sport and Sky Sports (in other words, a fairly unanimous verdict) Manchester United have launched a £27million bid for Southampton star Luke Shaw, with the view to get any potential deal wrapped up ahead of the World Cup in Brazil – where the 18-year-old will represent the Three Lions, as confirmed by Roy Hodgson this afternoon.

Commonly regarded as the finest homegrown talent England has to offer, it’s no great surprise that the teenage defender has been identified as the successor to Bosman-bound Red Devils veteran Patrice Evra, as the Frenchman eyes a big-money switch back to Ligue 1.

But with Louis van Gaal only moving closer to the Carrington throne and the seventh-place Premier League side reportedly prepared to spend as much as £200million to re-announce themselves as genuine title contenders next term, it’s unlikely that the acquisition of Shaw will be the Red Devils solitary piece of business this summer.

With that in mind, here’s a list of SIX well-documented United targets that could join him at Old Trafford this summer.
