From planning for a staunch Premier League title defence in the summer, a matter of months has already seen Manchester United‘s season aims whittle down to Champions League qualification.

And even that won’t be your traditional Liverpool-of-old-esque ‘we’ve quite clearly been the fourth best team in England this year’ kind of Champions League qualification.
