Spanish duo Still Interested In Manchester United ace
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid would be eager to sign Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney if he was to leave Old Trafford according to the Daily Mail.
Rooney was left fuming after being left out of United’s Champions League starting XI against Madrid on Tuesday night and was only brought on when the hosts were on the back foot.
Speculation has built since the game that Rooney is no longer happy in Manchester and would consider a summer move away from the Red Devils.
Barcelona are looking to add a central striker to allow Lionel Messi to play a deeper role in their side and Rooney’s work rate and goalscoring record fits the bill.
Madrid were unimpressed by Rooney’s display against them in the Spanish capital last month and will currently not bid the required £20million this summer unless Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the club, possibly to United.
Sir Alex Ferguson doesn’t expect Rooney to leave at the end of the season but he also said that about Ronaldo, David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy weeks before they left the club.
