Shinji Kagawa has vowed to improve his form, after admitting he is fighting for his Manchester United future, according to the Metro.

Kagawa has found first team football hard to come by since the arrival of David Moyes in the summer, despite having the best goal scoring record of any of United’s midfielders last season.

And despite featuring more regularly in the last couple of games, the Manchester United boss has questioned the former Borussia Dortmund man’s form – and Kagawa himself has admitted he must do better.

“I have to take this like some kind of message from the manager,” Kagawa said.

“I need to improve more and more, or I cannot survive at this club.

“I have to take this in a positive way and keep trying to do my best.”

The latest frustration for Kagawa came when he was substituted during half time of Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, although the Japanese international felt he was harshly treated. With the game at 0-0, Kagawa claimed he had plenty more to offer in the second half, and felt United simply needed to be patient to get the result.

“I thought that I would have been able to find some space to create the chances in the second half.” he added.

“Sure, I wasn’t involved that much, I didn’t touch the ball enough but I was trying to be patient.”
