Stoke to demand £15m for Manchester United target
The Red Devils are said to have made the Bosnian their number one summer target, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson looking to replace the much-criticised David de Gea.
Having turned down a reported £12m offer from Chelsea for the former Portsmouth stopper one year ago, the Potters have upped their valuation due to the 25-year-old’s impressive form.
Only City and Chelsea have conceded fewer goals than Stoke this term, with Begovic a key cog in their defensive unit.
But, with a deal in place to welcome Jack Butland to the Britannia over the summer, speculation has ramped up that they will be willing to offload their current number one.
Well aware of United’s need for a solid goalkeeper, manager tony Pulis has set his stall out with a £15m asking price.
However, Fergie may be deterred by the fee and switch his attention to other targets.
Liverpool’s Pepe Reina is thought to be high on his wish list and could be available after a shaky season with the Reds.
Simon Mignolet of Sunderland is another possible option, whilst Barcelona’s Victor Valdes, who is set to the leave the Catalan club, is another name to have been linked with Old Trafford.
