Following on from our first ever combined eleven article last week, this Sunday offers up the biggest of big ones to look forward to – the derby at the Etihad Stadium between Manchester United and Manchester City. It looks a particularly exciting one given that just three points separates the two teams at the top of the table and a win for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side could open up a potentially decisive six-point lead heading into the festive period.

The only criteria that we have for these combined elevens’ is that the players on show have to be either fit or available for the game itself – that means that Nemanja Vidic (knee), Nani (hamstring), Anderson (hamstring), Tom Cleverley (hamstring) and Shinji Kagawa (knee) miss out for the visitors, while for the hosts, Aleksandar Kolarov (groin), James Milner (hamstring), Micah Richards (knee) and Jack Rodwell (hamstring) aren’t available for Roberto Mancini’s hosts. The trio of David Silva, Gael Clichy and Antonio Valencia are all touch and go but should start the actual game this weekend. So, without further ado, here is our combined eleven, lining up in a 4-2-2-2 formation.
